New door extracting machine made by NKMZ: the customer is happy

Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod continues to get into the coke equipment market as a machine manufacturer. At the end of November, at the Avdiivka Coke Plant, a modern door-extracting machine designed and manufactured by NKMZ was put into operation. The customer is completely pleased with its work. This is the second door-extracting machine produced by NKMZ for Ukrainian metallurgists. The first one has been successfully operated at Yuzhkoks PJSC (Kamenskoye) for almost a year now.

Among the advantages of the new machine, operating personnel noted software control with application of frequency regulation, availability of four surveillance cameras that provide visualization of the operation of its mechanisms. The machine operators paid attention to the comfort of the operator’s compartment: a smoke from the coke oven battery does not come into it, it has excellent sound insulation, air conditioning and a very comfortable ergonomic operator’s seat. The operator’s compartment is equipped with three-layer heat-resistant protective glass that can withstand temperatures of about 280 ° C. Thanks to the joysticks, the machine is simple and easy to operate. The machine is also equipped with a door man platform to control its movement along the battery.

This is the first door-extracting machine supplied by NKMZ to the customer on a turnkey basis. Installation and commissioning works were carried out under the supervision of NKMZ supervising engineers.

Mr. Andrey Tsarev, chief design engineer of metallurgical and sinking-and-tunneling equipment production division at NKMZ, said that the successful installation and commissioning of a new door-extracting machine once again confirmed that our company can design and manufacture equipment of any complexity and for any tasks, fulfilling all the wishes of the customer. For the first time, the NKMZ designers introduced their know-how technology in this machine, namely – a mechanism for cleaning the door frames of a coke oven battery, for which a patent will be issued.

Mr. Andrey Milov, Engineering Director of Avdiivka Coke Plant noted the high level of the machine and the efficient work of NKMZ specialists during the process of commissioning as to fulfilling all extra wishes (regarding minor design changes) expressed by the coke chemists in addition to basic requirements specification.

Today Avdiyivka Coke Plant is considering NKMZ as a potential manufacturer of other coke battery machines.

NKMZ invests in preparation of future personnel

Novokramatorsky mashinostroitelny zavod keeps investing in preparation of manpower by means of various support to vocational technical schools of the city.

According to Mr. Sergey Udodenko, the deputy technical director for construction works of NKMZ, the enterprise accommodated the requests of the heads of Kramatorsk vocational technical education center) (former vocational technical school No. 47) and Kramatorsk higher vocational technical school No. 14 (KHVTS No. 14) as for assistance in the repair of workshops and classrooms. Specialists of the construction works department developed design estimates, held tenders, and involved contractors into work. NKMZ allocated 2.8 million UAH to finance the repair works.

In KHVTS No 14, three classrooms were repaired, including installation of metal-plastic doors, complete replacement of the electrical wiring and heating systems, installation of new floor covering and suspended ceilings, plastering and painting of the walls. Similar work was done in a workshop with area of 25 m2. The workshop and classrooms have now nice and up-to-date look, , and, no doubt, it has become more pleasant to study in them. This year NKMZ also helped the school to purchase furniture (desks, chairs, wardrobes) for three classrooms of the second building.

Director of KHVTS No 14 Mr. Mikhail Kuprikov expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of NKMZ PJSC Mr. Georgy Skudar, General Director Mr. Igor Protynyak, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Mr. Maxim Turkov and the entire staff of the enterprise for the attention they constantly pay to this educational institution. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the school, Mr. Georgy Skudar personally donated a computer class. Last year the company handed over computers and interactive whiteboards and carried out external repairs of the school complex.

In another educational institution of Kramatorsk, namely Vocational Technical Education Center, repair works are carried out today in a turning workshop with a total area of 365 m2. Here, the dismantling of the old ones and the installation of new door and window metal-plastic blocks, the plastering of the walls have already been completed. The works as for concrete floors restoration, plastering, walls painting, repair a foreman’s room, repair of floor slabs and roofs, as well as electrical installation works are currently in progress.

Over 2019-2020, NKMZ spent 7.4 million UAH for repairs of premises and workshops in KHVTS No. 14 and Vocational Technical Education Center and for their equipping with office equipment and furniture.

New spreader made by NKMZ was put into operation

For more than a month, a new modern spreader OГС-4000/125, designed and manufactured by Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod (NKMZ) has been successfully operating in the Muruntau open pit mine of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (Republic of Uzbekistan). The maintenance service specialists have no complaints about its work.

It is a part of the rock conveying complex, which was also started up in October. This is the first of two spreaders supplied by NKMZ to Navoi MMC last year. Erection of the second one is nearing completion. Its startup is planned for the 10-th of December. The work was carried out under the guidance of Novokramatorsk supervising engineers.

Uzbek miners preferred NKMZ spreaders to machines of world leaders because of their production, which have more than 100 units of these products in their reference lists. They ordered two spreaders at the one time, because these machines are not representatives of the production series, but were designed and manufactured according to the individual technical assignment, taking into account all the features of mining operations at the Muruntau open pit mine. The miners of Navoi MMC completely trust in the Novokramatorsk brand, because the steeply inclined conveyor that has been in operation at this open pit mine since 2011 for the first time at NKMZ has earned their best reviews. The other Novokramatorsk mining equipment, which they are also satisfied with, is in operation at the combine.

The new spreader has the original design and corresponds to modern world analogues. The spreaders were the largest of the machines shipped in 2020 by the division of ore-and-mining and press-forging equipment of NKMZ: weight of one – 1130 tons, length – 140.8 m, height – 42 m, width – 14 m, production capacity – 4000 m3/hour.

In two complexes of cyclical-and-continuous flow technology, in which these spreaders are installed, two-by-two crushing and reloading devices are in operation. Each of them includes crushers also manufactured at NKMZ.

Cooperation between NKMZ and Navoi MMC continues. This year, the Novokramatorsk workers have already sent to Uzbekistan skip and cage-type winders ШПМ МПМН-3,15х4, five mills МШЦ 5500х7500, the mill ММС 90х30. There are prospects for the next year as well.
