New door extracting machine made by NKMZ: the customer is happy

Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod continues to get into the coke equipment market as a machine manufacturer. At the end of November, at the Avdiivka Coke Plant, a modern door-extracting machine designed and manufactured by NKMZ was put into operation. The customer is completely pleased with its work. This is the second door-extracting machine produced by NKMZ for Ukrainian metallurgists. The first one has been successfully operated at Yuzhkoks PJSC (Kamenskoye) for almost a year now.

Among the advantages of the new machine, operating personnel noted software control with application of frequency regulation, availability of four surveillance cameras that provide visualization of the operation of its mechanisms. The machine operators paid attention to the comfort of the operator’s compartment: a smoke from the coke oven battery does not come into it, it has excellent sound insulation, air conditioning and a very comfortable ergonomic operator’s seat. The operator’s compartment is equipped with three-layer heat-resistant protective glass that can withstand temperatures of about 280 ° C. Thanks to the joysticks, the machine is simple and easy to operate. The machine is also equipped with a door man platform to control its movement along the battery.

This is the first door-extracting machine supplied by NKMZ to the customer on a turnkey basis. Installation and commissioning works were carried out under the supervision of NKMZ supervising engineers.

Mr. Andrey Tsarev, chief design engineer of metallurgical and sinking-and-tunneling equipment production division at NKMZ, said that the successful installation and commissioning of a new door-extracting machine once again confirmed that our company can design and manufacture equipment of any complexity and for any tasks, fulfilling all the wishes of the customer. For the first time, the NKMZ designers introduced their know-how technology in this machine, namely – a mechanism for cleaning the door frames of a coke oven battery, for which a patent will be issued.

Mr. Andrey Milov, Engineering Director of Avdiivka Coke Plant noted the high level of the machine and the efficient work of NKMZ specialists during the process of commissioning as to fulfilling all extra wishes (regarding minor design changes) expressed by the coke chemists in addition to basic requirements specification.

Today Avdiyivka Coke Plant is considering NKMZ as a potential manufacturer of other coke battery machines.
