Purpose:
to create temporary “bottom” in the mould before casting;
to discharge the ingot out of the mould into the strand by driven rollers of secondary cooling zone.

Structural features:
dummy bar is a one-side flexibility chain which is connected with the head by means of intermediate link;
to pull out the ingot better the front end of the head is made hook-shaped;
the hook is turned down enabling the head to disengage the ingot while separating from it;
the dummy bar head is capable to rotate about the chain mounting axis to 90° and to be taken off upwards thanks to the presence of the slot in the intermediate link.
